We have a range of clubs and activities for members to take part in sports activities, cookery programmes, wellbeing, performing arts, social activities, more. This gives an opportunity to go out without support from family giving respite to carers but also developing independent skills and have fun.

The Cheesy Waffles Project is a registered charity (project) for children, young people and adults with additional needs from across County Durham. Although our project is predominantly for people with learning disabilities, it is not exclusive and everyone is welcome to join.

The Centre is located in a public park with its own car park and on a direct bus route from Durham City and Sunderland. The Centre is a safe and caring space where Cheesy Waffles delivers activities and projects for children, young people and adults.

A Royal Visit to the Project
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge came to our community centre to meet our project members and learn about our project. They met many of our amazing members, joined in with our activities, learnt about the project, discussed our members completing their DofE awards and heard some of our interesting stories all in our community garden in Belmont. They even had the chance to play golf with our members. An unforgettable and spectacular day for both our staff and members and the Duke and Duchess themselves.
