WELCOME TO
CHEESY WAFFLES PROJECT
About Cheesy Waffles
All about our project that began changing the lives of young people & adults in 2004
The Cheesy Waffles Project is a registered charity (project) for children, young people and adults with additional needs from across County Durham. Although our project is predominantly for people with learning disabilities, it is not exclusive and everyone is welcome to join.
Clubs and Activities
We offer a wide range of clubs monday to saturday for mixed ages (onsite & offsite)
We provide a comprehensive range of clubs and sessions for members to take part in variety of activities which give them an opportunity to develop independent skills, learn and have fun.
Many clubs allow members to go out without support from family, giving respite to carers and also enabling them to socialise and experience new things.
From sports & wellbeing activities, cookery programmes, performing arts, social activities, shopping trips, residentials and more, members will benefit in many ways. They are also encouraged to help local community projects.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge came to our community centre to meet our project members and learn about our project. They met many of our amazing members, joined in with our activities, learnt about the project, discussed our members completing their DofE awards and heard some of our interesting stories all in our community garden in Belmont. They even had the chance to play golf with our members. An unforgettable and spectacular day for both our staff and members and the Duke and Duchess themselves.
